Skill Overview

I am a typical geek, enjoy the IT industry, orientated onto the LAMP stacks. I am a Systems Engineer for a local ISP, which bring together my favorite skill sets:

  • High Availability and Scalable Architectures
    • These sort of come in hand in hand, I’ve worked heavily with Linux Heartbeat / Pacemaker Projects
    • FreeBSD CARP System, although only briefly
    • Proprietary SIP Session Border Controllers
  • Security Engineering
  • MySQL DBA
  • SIP Engineer (I do enjoy playing around with Phone Systems, check out some of my projects)
  • Network Layers (I know enough to be dangerous, but I know some really good Network Engineers)
  • Process Management (process asin following processes, not processes asin running programs / threads)
My Sister and I

My sister and I, we're a little older now though.

Non IT Interests

  • My Partner Jenna
  • Cooking – I’m a big fan
    • I get most of that from my step father, and the Maltese side of my fathers family
    • I have a deal with Jenna, I cook she cleans. She doesn’t like cooking and I don’t like cleaning
      • It works well, we eat well and have a clean house
  • Vegetable Gardening
    • Mainly because I enjoy cooking, and don’t enjoy not having the ingredients
    • Thus, it seemed logical to grow my own
    • I don’t do this for the organic benefits, but I do follow the organic growing processes
  • Photography
    • I have a Canon 450D, couple kit lenses, speedlite and my Canon 24-70 2.8
    • I keeps me entertained
